Excerpts/Pics

This is Winnie.

The poor girl looks quite ill, and in fact, she was just that.  Rescued by David during her pregnancy, she was not expected to live, much less to have a healthy litter of pups.  But David’s years of experience helped save her and an amazing brood of 12 live pups!

Can you believe these cute pups were born of such a sick mum?  Well they were.  Twelve live pups, no less, and they all survived.  Even David was a bit surprised.  All at once, he had not only care of a sick mum, but feeding duty for a dozen hungry pups to boot!  How did he do it?  Read “Rescue Winnie.”

Wow!  Look at this beautiful puppy!

Yep, it’s one of  Winnie’s litter.  All you show people out there better watch out, because this little girl and her siblings will be giving you a run for your money.

Wouldn’t you like to be able to breed your dog and raise beautiful pups like this one?  Of course you would.  That’s why we put together “The Commoner’s Guide to Dog Breeding.”

Here’s another of David’s mothers, Lilly.  She is seen here feeding her last brood of 9 dark red pups.  They may all try, but mum doesn’t have nearly enough equipment to feed them all at the same time.  We have to help out a bit.  Find out what we feed them and why.  See “Helping Mum Care for Her Pups.”

Look at this French champion British Bulldog.

At birth, this dog was a “swimmer.”  What is a swimmer?  How do you spot this condition?  What can you do to correct it?

Read “Rearing Your Puppies.”

Of course, British Bulldogs are not the only ones discussed in the book.  This is Kizzy, David’s beautiful English Mastiff at three years of age.

But before you decide to buy, breed and raise this particular breed of dog,  it would be wise to read the chapter “Picking the Breed.”

And, now that we mentioned it, you might be well advised to read that “Picking the Breed” chapter before you opt for this breed as well.  These are David’s sweet Newfoundland Labs, Indy, Holly and Penny.

If there is a possibility that you will buy, breed and raise puppies, this is the book for you.  We’ve avoided the technical terms and all the normal breeder’s language and gobbledy-gook and made everything you need to know easy to follow and understand.  The Commoner’s Guide to Dog Breeding is the perfect book for the average citizen who wishes to breed his or her dog.
